Frequently Asked Questions
📖 Sessions & Academics
-
I offer reading, phonics, and writing for students in grades K–8, and math for students in grades K–5. All sessions are completely one-on-one and tailored to your child's current level — not just their grade level.
-
This is actually where my background shines most. With 17 years as a resource teacher and a K–8 special education credential, I specialize in identifying exactly where a gap started and building from there — patiently, systematically, and without making your child feel behind.
-
Enrichment and acceleration are absolutely available. I will assess where your child is and push them appropriately further — whether that means going deeper into a concept or moving ahead of grade level expectations.
-
Yes — and this is one of my greatest areas of expertise. I hold a K–8 special education credential and spent 17 years as a resource teacher working with students with IEPs, dyslexia, processing differences, ADHD, and other learning needs. If your child has an IEP, I can align their instruction to support those goals.
-
Yes. I use structured, research-based literacy approaches that are particularly effective for students with dyslexia. If your child has struggled with reading despite trying other interventions, please reach out.
-
Every session is live, one-on-one on Zoom. I come prepared with a plan tailored specifically to your child based on their current needs and goals. Sessions are active and engaging — not passive worksheet completion. You'll see real instruction happening in real time.
💻 Schedule & Logistics
-
Booking is simple and takes less than two minutes. Click the Book a Session button on any page, choose your session length (30, 45, or 60 minutes), pick a time that works for your family, and pay at checkout. You'll receive a Zoom link automatically once your booking is confirmed.
-
Sessions are available in three lengths — 30 minutes ($30), 45 minutes ($45), and 60 minutes ($60). For homework help or a focused single skill, 30 minutes is often enough. For homeschool lessons or students who need extra warm-up time, 60 minutes tends to work best. The 45-minute session is the most popular choice.
-
Not at all. You can book a single session whenever you need one, or set up a recurring weekly appointment — whatever works best for your family. There are no contracts, no minimums, and no cancellation fees for sessions cancelled with adequate notice.
-
Your child needs a device with a camera and microphone (laptop, tablet, or desktop), a stable internet connection, and a quiet space to work. I handle everything else. A notebook and pencil are helpful to have nearby. If it is a homework help session, your child will need the homework assignment ready.
-
Life happens — I get it. Please cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours before your session to avoid being charged. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours notice may be subject to a cancellation fee. Details will be included in your booking confirmation.
