Common Roots Learning

You chose this for a reason

Homeschooling is supposed to feel like freedom.

But 4th and 5th grade changes things.

You started homeschooling because you wanted something better — more flexibility, stronger values, and learning that fits your child. Then upper elementary arrived.

  • Math gets harder and harder to teach

  • Reading and writing expectations jump significantly

  • You're playing teacher, planner, and parent simultaneously

  • Social connection for your child is hard to find

  • You wonder if you're doing enough

This is exactly what Common Roots Learning was built for.

We're not a school. We're not just tutoring. We're a guided homeschool partnership — designed to take the heaviest parts off your plate while keeping you in full control of your child's education.

You remain the homeschool administrator in Texas. We provide the instruction, curriculum, structure, and accountability your child needs to thrive.

Common questions

Answers to what families ask most.

Is this considered homeschooling in Texas?

Yes. You remain the legal homeschool administrator. We provide instruction, curriculum, and support while you maintain full oversight of your child's education.

What grade levels do you serve?

Currently, our program is designed specifically for 4th and 5th grade students. The curriculum, instruction style, and cohort are all tailored to upper elementary learners.

How much of my time does this require?

Much less than traditional homeschooling. We handle all instruction and structure. You maintain oversight but are freed from planning, teaching, and managing curriculum daily.

Do you provide diplomas or report cards?

Because we are not a school, we don't issue diplomas or traditional report cards. We do provide detailed progress reports and comprehensive academic portfolios throughout the year.

What if my child is behind grade level?

With a small cohort of 12 and two 1-on-1 tutoring sessions every week, we meet students exactly where they are and build confidence step by step.

When are the summer camps?

Reading camp is hep the week of July 20th and Math camp is held the week of August 3rd, so students start the year with strong momentum and confidence.

Founder & Lead Instructor · 20 Years of Academic Excellence

I built Common Roots Learning because I believe every child deserves a teacher who truly knows them — and every homeschool parent deserves a partner they can trust. This isn't a class factory. It's a small, intentional community where your child grows academically, builds real relationships, and learns to love learning. I'd love to talk with your family about whether this is the right fit.
